Unite in the struggle of the oppressed against Iranian reactionaries and international aggressors!

May Day is here. The day for workers of the world, and especially for women workers, to declare their determination to achieve a world without oppression or exploitation.

This year as we look forward to May Day, the Bush regime is beating on the drums of yet another war. US statesmen are talking of preparations of war and they are considering nuclear attack on Iran. European politicians are busy plotting to secure their part in war on Iran.  The media portrays it as being a question of whether Iran has the right to nuclear energy or not. But this issue, merely serves the same function as that of Iraq’s non-existing weapons of mass destruction: namely, as a thin veil over US’s real intentions of hegemony over the world, of controlling the wealth and manpower of Iran and the Middle East. Whether this is achieved through economic boycott or through military invasion and nuclear attack, it will result in destroying thousands and thousands of human lives and in unspeakable destruction for a long time to come.

The leaders of the Islamic Republic of Iran are party to this plot against the Iranian people. On the one hand, they try to harness our people’s nationalist sentiments with bravado anti-US gesturing. On the other, they run from country to country trading the wealth and blood of our people to achieve more time in power for themselves. This regime, could not withstand any aggression even if it wanted to. It is economically and militarily dependent on world powers. It is also hated by its own people as a result of years of vicious exploitation and suppression.

We, women of Iran, have from the start fought against the slavery imposed on us by the Islamic Republic of Iran. Today we are uniting to remove this regime from Iran. We know that successful resistance to intervention by US and Europe cannot be achieved without overthrowing the Islamic Republic of Iran. So we call on all people of the world to join us in this.

We call on all people who yearn for liberation, all those who hate war and all those who dream of a better world: not to wait for the bombs to drop. US and European war threats must be opposed. This has to be done in conjunction with the democratic struggle of the Iranian people against the reactionary rulers of Iran. We, women of Iran, know that for our liberation, we have to join both these struggles against the Islamic Republic and against imperialist intervention.  We are ready for this. Come and join us. Together we can achieve a world without oppression, exploitation and war.
