Imperialism and Reaction: Hands off the lives of Iranian women

They burned down Afghanistan under the pretext of revenging the 11th September disaster .

They ruined Iraq under the pretext of looking for weapons of mass destruction.

Today they are targeting Iran under the excuse of its ‘nuclear technology’.

They  had themselves  fostered the Taleban and brought them to power.

Saddam was their protégé and they armed him.

Iran’s Islamic Regime survives thanks to its economic, military deals with Western powers.

In Afghanistan the excuse for the bombings and mass murder was to ‘liberate’ women. We saw how imperialism’s  allies are amongst the most  retrograde forces , imposing them on the Afghan people and today Afghan women are stoned to death under the shadow of ISAF forces.

In Iraq  the excuse of defeating Saddam’s dictatorship was to justify the bombings and mass murder. We saw how their (imperialists) torturers managed to be worse than   Saddam’s and the fundamentalists who came to power at the back of occupiers’ tanks and boots managed to impose the same anti women laws that were supposedly the excuse for attacking Afghanistan.

Today George Bush and the US administration claim they want to finalise their confrontation with Iran’s Islamic Republic regime and nothing will deter them from this. From nuclear technology to the plight of Iranian women any excuse is good enough to justify their action.  Their aim is to strengthen the new world order, an order based on exploitation and pillage.  Whatever the means  (from nuclear bombing to a velvet revolution) the consequences for the Iranian people and women in particular will be nothing but  more destruction and poverty.

We , Iranian women have been  involved in a battle with this fundamentalist  Islamic Republic Regime from the day it came to power. A battle where the punishment for expressing our opinion has been  prison, torture and execution. Punishment for showing a strand of hair has been getting your face cut by razor or getting acid thrown at your face.

Punishment for love is death by stoning. We have fought these battles and today we are amongst the most determined  opponents of the regime. We don’t need ‘sponsors’  in order to achieve our rights and to gain liberation.

We cannot allow  US Imperialism  and its allies to use our struggles for equality to be used for their criminal, greedy aims. We must not allow our opposition to imperialist interventions to be used as justification for delaying a struggle with the murderers currently ruling Iran.

George Bush claims ‘if you are not with us you are with them’.  We say no, we are neither with you nor with them! Both of your regimes live on the blood of innocent people and on the exploitation of the masses. Yesterday you were allies and if necessary you will become allies again. We are with the oppressed of the  world all of whom are victims of this infernal  order.

We call on all freedom loving individuals and the German people to condemn any imperialist intervention in Iran and to unite with the struggles of the Iranian people and those of Iranian women in particular.

We call  on all freedom loving individuals to participate in the nationwide demonstrations against George Bush’s visit to Germany to raise their voice to Bush’s interventionist policies so that the world can hear our protest.

No to the Islamic Republic

No to any imperialist intervention in Iran
